Obverse 3. Close straight date, too high and slanting down to the right with the 9 very dose to bust. No shoulder loop. TY are low. Vertical field chip below E. No trace of the pole behind head at the cap.

Rarity 8. Only one reported.
Remarks: Discovered by Robert Bashlow of New York City,in the spring of 1961, in "the Abscess" (Sheldon's term for New York City). The discovery specimen is blundered, showing both edge devices. The discovery was announced, with enlarged illustrations, in the Metropolitan Numismatic Journal? Later offered by Metropolitan Coin Company in the September 1961 issue of Numismatic Scrapbook Magazine for $350.
