Die states: I. Perfect dies.
II. Cracked from the rim right of date to the drapery.
III. Cracked from the rim to low curls, later extending over 1.
IV. Small arc crack in the drapery above final 7. Another crack parallel to that of state ill, at first not reaching the curls, is represented there by a bulge, later a plain crack. Faint crack from the rim to ribbon. At least five sets of clash marks, all faint, above and below the ribbon and before the throat.
Reverse has at least six sets of clash marks in the wreath. Tiny lump on base of I(c).
V. Cracked from the rim down through IBE to hair. The state IV crack from rim to ribbon is plainer and extends down to the back curls. The state ill crack eventually reaches 9.
VI. At least 10 sets of obverse clash marks. Reverse has plain clash marks from the drapery at s o. Eleven dentils above TES blur together.
VII. Additional crack, from the rim to ribbon, above that of state V. Cracked from the rim to tops of u.
VIII. Cracked, from the tops of TY to rim, from the nose to rim, and from the drapery to rim above. At least 12 sets of clash marks.

IX. Short vertical crack behind the second curl joins the parallel cracks. Minor rim crumbling over D STAT is only visible on well-centered coins. Later, cracked from 97 to the rim.

Remarks: Jonathan K. Kern turned up a holed example overstruck on an unidentified foreign coin or token. Undertype traces include a letter 0 and part of ship's rigging in a configuration different from Talbot, Allum & Lee tokens or any British or Irish token listed in Dalton & Harner, (Richard Dalton and Samuel H. Hamer. The Provincial Token-Coinage of the 18th Century. London, 1910-1918. Reprints: Stow, Mass: A.D. Hoch, 1967; London, 1968; 1977.) No further information is known at this time.
