Obverse 32. LIBERTY is widely spaced with m farther apart, even than on obverse 30, with base of I below B and junction of the forelock and brow slightly left of the right upright of T. Small 7. Lower 9 than on two preceding obverses. Chip in the field just before the neck. Usually identified by the tiny chips at serif of 7 of state II.
Reverse GG.
Edge: Plain edge (PE).
Die states: I. Perfect obverse, without chips at RT or at serif of 7. The reverse has fourfold clash marks as before. Extremely rare. Clapp 33-EE.
II. Many minute chips between RT and forelock. Three tiny chips at serif of 7, at first faint.
III. Narrow rim break above F A, although centering does not always allow this to show. Very faint diagonal die flaw before the face, which fades out. Additional die chips before the neck and behind the head. Clapp 33b-EE.
IV. At least four sets of blurry obverse clash marks near the ribbon and before the throat. Reverse has heavy clash marks, displaced by rotation: from the bust below TES, from the profile between leaves and ICA, and from the letters below the fraction and right.
Equivalents: Doughty 124. Proskey 16. McGirk 7 A. Clapp 44. Sheldon 184. EAC 45. Encyclopedia 1732.
Low Rarity 2.
Remarks: Clapp mentions one with a double profile.
