Obverse 6. Widest date of the year; widest LIBERTY except possibly for obverse 13 of number 16 below.

Reverse H. Type of 1795. Single terminal leaves. No berry right of bow; paired berries below ER. Same as 1796 reverse F (numbers 8-10).

Edge: Plain edge (PE) and double-flange edge (DFE).

Clapp states this is also known with reeded edge (RE), although this has not been seen.

Die states: 1. Reverse rust pits between u and stem. Crack slants up from N(E). Clapp 11-Jb.

II. Faint crack from rim through center of L. Clapp 11b-Jb.

III. Obverse cracked from the rim through 7 to the device.

IV. Cracked through top of 7 grazing the top of 9. Another from the rim through 8 to the drapery. Reverse has at least seven sets of clash marks. Clapp 11c-Jb.

V. Small lump between drapery folds. Bulges behind knot, at and above drapery. The crack of state III now extends into the hair. Reverse buckling at S O.

VI. Cracks extended. That of state II now continues through the bases of IB. Multiple lumps in drapery right of 8. Extensive reverse rust. At least nine sets of clashmarks.

Rarity 3.

Remarks: The double flanged edge coins suggest that some of this variety may have followed the next few; certainty is not yet possible.
