Obverse 10. LIBER are close, especially LIB, with RTY less so. Top of Y is high and its left base is gone. Spacing of the date increases from left to right. Chips just right of the top of 1 and at the upper right side of the first O.

Reverse Q. Stemless leaves at AM and ME. Stemless berries right of (N)T. Short fraction bar. Shortest berry stems of the year. Left leg of the final A is repunched. Instantly identifiable by the die break described at state I.

Edge: Plain edge (PE).

Die states: I. Nearly vertical break from the left ribbon along the left side of 1(00).

II. Clash marks from dentils above ERTY, the die failing at the tops of ERTY.

III. Reverse cracked through ICA, later extending to the final 0 and rim below.

IV. First crack extends through the tops of MER. An extra crack joins final 0 to the right ribbon.

V. Branch cracks from the top of (C)A to the first crack of state II and from first crack to the rim right of the final

O. New crack down from the first O.

VI. Clash marks from ERTY around the fraction.

Cracked from the right ribbon through the fraction bar and break of state I to the rim at left and from the right ribbon end to the final O. Rim break on ER, extending above M, and joining the crack of state II. Extremely rare, only four identified.

Low Rarity 6.

Remarks: McGirk was apparently the first to identify the variety as very rare.
