Obverse 3.
Reverse G. Same as 1801 reverse J, but the denominator was corrected - aka "Corrected Fraction" or "1/100 over 1/000."
Die states: I. Obverse has at least four new sets of clash marks. The lump is larger with its base again rounded. Reverse with at least four sets of clash marks and a narrow rim break above ED. Newcomb 4e-G. On examples with a narrow left border the rim break may not show.
II. Small bulge right of the drapery end.
III. Cracked from the rim right of 3 to drapery, bulge, and to the rim. Newcomb 4f-Gb. McGirk lB. Discovered by A. C. Gies.

IV. Cracked from the rim through tops of RIC. Specimens with broad enough left border (seldom the case) show a second narrow rim break above ST.
V. Reverse rim break on RIC. Very rare. Newcomb 4fGc.
VI. Huge rim break on end of the drapery. Very rare. Discovered by A. C. Gies. Newcomb 4g-Gc. McGirk 1C.

Equivalents: Proskey 1. Doughty 179. McGirk 1A, 1B, 1C. Ross 1:1-A. Newcomb 7. Sheldon 249. EAC 7. Encyclopedia 1752.
Rarity 2.
Remarks: This is one of the very rare instances of a die actually reannealed and altered after use. The necessary rehardening doubtless shortened its life and may have caused the rim break at ED.
