Obverse 10. The date has 8 minutely below 1 and 0. IB are close, ER and TY are farther apart than usual. Point of curl is below the center of B.

Die states: I. No obverse clash marks. Extremely rare. II. Clash marks from leaves below the chin, none at RTY. Very rare.
III. Clash marks from 100 at RTY. Newcomb 9-Hc.
IV. Failure develops at RTY. Newcomb 9b-Hc.
V. Rim break on TY, touching all of T and the left arm of Y. Extra clash marks from leaves before the face and below the chin, and from 10 and fraction bar at R. Reverse has at least 14 sets of clash marks in the wreath. Later strikings show axial misalignment, the weak areas at end of the drapery and at OF. McGirk 20A. Newcomb 9c-Hc. Discovered by A. C. VI. Arc crack from the right rim into the field before neck. Extremely rare. Newcomb 9d-Hc.
VII. The crack of state VI becomes heavy before the neck and arcs down through the neck very faintly into the field behind the head. Reverse cracked from the rim between ES, through the right branch, and through I(c) to rim. A bulge develops below the crack. Extremely rare.
