Series: U.S. Colonial Issues
PCGS AU55+
The Silver 1785 Immune Columbia Pattern is a wonderful, rare coin that has close relationships with other contemporary series. The reverse (NOVA side) ties directly into the Nova Constellatios and the Immune Columbia side also appears in the Vermont Copper series (where it appears on the Rare Ryder 1).
This type is known as the 13 Stars Reverse to differentiate it from the Nova Reverse that has an extra, 14th Star placed between NOVA and CONSTELLATIO.
While esimates of as many as a dozen examples exist, we know of only seven demonstrably different pieces. The finest appears to be the coin from the Parmelee collection, which has never been certified in the modern era, but which appears to be a nice AU example.
