The 1875 Proof Indian Cent is one the scarcer issues in the Proof Indian Cent series. It has a mintage of about 700. There are about 15 different Proof Indian Cents that have mintages under 1,000 and the 1875 Proof is one of them. The more common Proof Indian Cents have mintages of about 2,000 or more. So, the 1875 Proof is a semi scarce coin but not a key date in the series.
Most examples that exist appear to be in the PR64 grade range with most of them having the Red Brown designation. With the Red color designation they are scarce in all grades. Anything grading MS66 Red or higher is a condition census coin and very few examples are known in this condition or higher.
