PCGS Set Registry Update

Colombia was fighting off guerilla factions during the year of 1967. President Carlos Lleras Restrepo called for martial law, leading to arrests of many communist leaders. The year 1967 also marked the introduction of Colombian Women's Day to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of Policarpa Salavarrieta, who was known as "La pola." Policarpa was a seamstress who turned into a spy for the Colombians. She gained valuable information on the whereabouts of Spanish Royalists who resided in Bogata, and this intelligence work laid the groundwork for the country's freedom. The commodity of coffee had always been an important export, and Colombia developed more products in 1967 to send abroad. Fresh flowers became a successful cash crop for Colombia. Like flowers, Colombian coins from 1967 are simplistic in style, and the 50 centavos is a good example. This coin and a few others are part of the new PCGS Set Registry listing titled 1967 Colombia Year Set.

Additional sets from various countries have been added, so please feel free to browse the PCGS Set Registry when you have a chance and you may find there is a set for almost anyone to build. The PCGS Set Registry offers many different sets from all over the world and specialty sets for advanced collectors. We appreciate your continued patronage!
