On November 14, 2024 the United States Mint issued the $1 2024 Proof Flowing Hair 230th Anniversary Gold coins, to celebrate the 230th Anniversary of the 1794 Flowing Hair Dollars. The Mint offered the 2024 Gold Flowing Hair Dollars to its customers through the U.S. Mint website. Each coin was composed of 99.99% gold, and had 1 ounce of gold. The coins originally had an issue price of $3,640 if ordered directly through the U.S. Mint. The maximum mintage was set at 17,500. The coins were also struck at the West Point Mint, although the actual coins do not carry the "W' mint mark.
The U.S. Mint also struck an additional 230, 2024 Flowing Hair Gold Dollars with a privy mint mark. The privy mint mark coins were consigned to Stacks Bowers Galleries by the U.S. Mint. Stacks Galleries then sold the coins on December 12, 2024 through their auction platform.
