In 2005 the U.S. Min introduced a new finish on coins referred to as Satin Finish. The Satin Finish coins did not go into circulation and were only sold in sets to collectors and the public directly from the Mint. Most examples are well struck and are in much better quality than circulation strike examples.
The 2006-P Satin Finish Roosevelt Dime is no exception, as it came well struck with most examples grading about MS67-MS68 condition. Nicer MS69 examples were much more difficult to find but enough examples were struck to keep prices affordable, that just about any collector can purchase one very inexpensively.
