2022-W $50 Gold Eagle, DCAM (Proof)

The 2022-W 1 Ounce Proof Gold Eagles were officially offered by the U.S. Mint on March 17, 2022. The same day, the U.S. Mint also offered the 2022 1/10 oz.,1/4 oz. and 1/2 oz. Proof Gold Eagles. The coins were also offered as a 4- Coin Proof Set. The price of each coin including the set fluctuated depending on the price of gold.

In the year 2021, the U.S Mint offered two different designs, which was the original Type 1 design for Gold Eagles and the Type 2 design. In 2022, the U.S. Mint is only offering the newer Type 2 design. The 2022 - 1 Ounce Proof Gold Eagles feature an anti-counterfeit reeded edge. For 2022 Proof Gold Eagles, only the 1 Ounce Proof Gold Eagles contain the anti-counterfeit design, and not the three fractional Proof Gold Eagles.
