2021-W $1 Silver Eagle - Type 2, DCAM (Proof)

The 2021-W Type 2 Proof Silver Eagles were officially released by the U.S. Mint on July 20, 2021. Each coin had an issue price of $73 if purchased directly from the U.S. Mint. The Type 2 Proof Silver Eagle has the same obverse design as previous Silver Eagles, however, the new Type 2 reverse has a completely new design compared to the Type1 Silver Eagles from 1986-2020.

The U.S. Mint struck two different designs in the 2021 Silver Eagles. The Type 1 design has the same design used on Silver Eagles from 1986-2020. The Type 2 design has a completely new reverse design. The new 2021-W Type 2 Proof Silver Eagles also have a new reed pattern variation to help combat counterfeiting.
