With over 13 million made, the 1946-S Nickel is a very common coin. However, fully struck examples with full steps on the reverse are a different story. Those coins represent a small portion of the overall population and they are very popular with collectors. Currently, the 1946-S Nickel with Full Steps is slightly more common then the 1946 Philadelphia issue but much less common than the 1946-D. Fortunately, many of the certified examples are in high grade and are reasonably affordable. The best example certified by PCGS is a single MS67FS.
