The Nova Constellatio silver "1000" pattern is unique. Like the other Nova Constellatios its list of previous owners includes Parmelee, Ellsworth, Garrett, and John Ford. This amazing piece of early Americana brought $190,000 at the Garrett auction in November, 1979 (John Ford was the buyer). This made it one of the most expensive coins at the sale and the price was nearly as much as a 1913 Liberty nickel would have sold for at the time.
