Jaime Hernandez:

The 1978-D Kennedy Half Dollar has one of the lower mintages from 1964-2001. Coins up to MS66 are relatively easy to obtain. In MS67 condition they become scarce and require much more searching to find an example. Anything grading higher than MS67 is considered rare and very desirable by serious Kennedy Half Dollar collectors.
