The United States Mint officially released the 2017 Boys Town Coins on March 09, 2017. The Mint issued 7 different coins commemorating the Boys Town Organization. Some of the coins were issued in clad, silver or gold, while some were struck in Uncirculated or Proof format. The coins were sold individually, while others also came in sets, depending on the different options available from the U.S. Mint. The maximum authorized mintage for the 50c 2017-S Boys Town Commemorative Clad Half Dollar, was set at 300,000.
2017-S Boys Town Uncirculated Half Dollars purchased on April 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. eastern time or before, had an introductory price of $21.95 each . After the introductory offer, the regular price was set at $26.95 for each of the 2017-S Boys Town Uncirculated Half Dollars.
