In 2015 the U.S. Mint celebrated the 225th anniversary of the United States Mashals Service, which also happes to be the oldest law enforcement agency in the country . The Mint offered several different U.S. Marshals coin products in 2015. These include $5 gold coins, the $1 silver coins and the 50c clad half dollars. All coins were produced in an Uncirculated and Proof version.
Most 2015-W U.S. Marshal $5 Gold coins were struck in nice condition ranging from about PR68DC to about PR69DC quality. Better perfect PR70DC examples were much more difficult to find but with a slight premium over PR69 DC examples. A PR70DC graded example could have been purchased without much effort and without paying a large premium.
