The Mint offered Uncirculated Gold Buffalos for the eight year in a row. The 2013 Uncirculated $50 Gold Buffalos were only offered to Mint Authorized Bullion Purchasers. The dealers would then sell the coins to other dealers or the public. This year was a special year for the Gold Buffalo coin series as the Mint issued a special Reverse Proof $50 Gold Buffalo besides offering the regular Uncirculated and Proof Gold Buffalos. This brought a lot of excitement for dealers and collectors of the Gold Buffalo series when the coins were initially being offered.
