Jaime Hernandez:

The 2012-D Native American Dollars were officially introduced to the public on April 26, 2012. The coins did not go into circulation and were only sold by the U.S. Mint. The coins were offered in rolls containing 25 coins each at an issue price of $32.95. They were also sold in boxes containing 250 coins each at a price of $275.95 and finally, they were also offered in 500 coin boxes priced at $550.95 each. Most coins came in really great quality. Only examples in MS67 appear to be scarce but enough coins are out there to meet the demand. In MS68 condition they are very scarce with less than a dozen or so known.
