Jaime Hernandez:

The Chester Presidential Dollar is the first design issued in the Presidential Dollar coin series for the year 2012. The 2012 Chester Presidential Dollars were officially issued by the U.S. Mint on April 05, 2012. Chester A. Arthur served as President of the United States from 1881 to 1885, therefore, the coins have the dual dates of 1881-1885 representing the years he served as President.

The Mint struck the coins at Philadelphia, Denver and San Francisco. The Philadelphia coins were struck well and examples up to MS67 can be found with minimal efforts. Only in MS68 and higher are they much more difficult to find and are considered very scarce in this condition.
