There were no 2009-W $50 Proof Platinum Eagles produced this year.
The Mint was unable to keep up with the demand for bullion related products. Therefore, the Mint canceled the production of the $10, $25 and $50 Platinum Proof coins.
For the Platinum Uncirculated versions, the Mint also canceled the production of the $10, $25, $50 and $100 Uncirculated Platinum Eagles this year.
The $100 Proof Platinum Eagles were the only Platinum coins struck by the U.S. Mint, in the year 2009.
