The 2008-W Elizabeth Monroe Uncirculated $10 coin was the fifth gold coin issued in the First Spouse Coin Program. It was also the First Spouse coin which was introduced in the year 2008.
The coin was officially released on February 28, 2008. The Mint produced a Mint State and Proof $10 Elizabeth Monroe Spouse Coin. The Mint State version was originally offered by the Mint at $599.95 each. The mintage limit was 40,000 coins for both the Mint State and Proof coins combined.
First Strike: Coins submitted to PCGS within the first 30 days of release qualify to receive a special First Strike designation.
