One of the great rarieties in the Silver 3 Cent series. The 1851 Proof 3 Cent Silver coins are beleived to have been struck to celebrate the introduction of this new series. Breen indicated there were 4 examples struck in Proof. The PCGS PR66 example is the same coin that was sold in the 1996 Eliasberg Sale. At the time, the currently PCGS PR66 example was described as being in PR65 condition.
