The 1880 Proof Indian Cent is one of the more common dates in the series. It has the highest mintage from 1859-1880. In fact, the mintage more than doubled from 1879 to 1880.
Obtaining an example of this date is fairly easy and most collectors can chose to be picky with this issue, as many examples appear at auction every year. The coin begins to be scarce in about PR66 condition. PR67 examples are very rare. And in PR68 or higher they are almost unknown.
