2007-W $1 Burnished Silver Eagle (Special Strike)

Jaime Hernandez: The 2007-W Uncirculated Silver Eagles were struck on specially prepared planchets also known as Burnished planchets. The coins were sold directly to the public by the U.S. Mint, unlike non burnished Uncirculated coins which are only sold directly to U.S. Mint authorized bullion purchasers.

To differentiate both Uncirculated coins, the 2007-W Uncirculated Burnished coins contain the W mint mark. The 2007 non collector version Uncirculated Silver Eagles do not display a mint mark.

The 2007-W Uncirculated Burnished Silver Eagles were first offered by the U.S. Mint on June 13, 2007. The coins sold out on November 20, 2007. The coins were also sold separately in a 2007 Uncirculated Dollar Set, which included all the four different 2007 Uncirculated Presidential Dollar coins and an Uncirculated 2007 Sacagawea Dollar coin. This set was first offered by the U.S. Mint on December 03, 2007.
