This is the second year in which the United states Mint offered a Bullion Uncirculated Platinum Eagle with a W mint mark. The Mint also celebrated the 10th Anniversary of the Platinum Eagles series by producing a special $50 Reverse Proof coin this year. The 2007-W $50 Mint State Platinum Eagle proved to be a big winner as the mintage proved to be very low.
