Jaime Hernandez:

The 2007-W $100 Frosted Freedom Proof Platinum coin was originally discovered sometime in January of 2011. Other denominations of $50 and $25 were also discovered in the Platinum Eagle series.

The Mint later issued a statement that it struck 12 one ounce coins, 21 half ounce coins and finally 21 quarter half ounce coins all with the date 2007 for the Platinum Eagle series.

The Frosted Freedom variety has the word "Freedom" on the reverse with a cameo or mirror look appearance as opposed to having a satin like appearance like all other coins struck in the Platiinum Eagle series this year.

First Strike: Coins submitted to PCGS within the first 30 days of the release date qualified to receive a specia First Strike designation on the PCGS holder.
