Jaime Hernandez:

This is the second year that the U.S. Mint struck $50 Gold Buffaloes. Mintages for this issue dropped considerably compared to the previous year. More than lilkely, the 2006 Buffaloes were more popular because they were a first year of issue coin.

The Bullion Uncirculated Gold Buffaloes were only sold to Mint Authorized purchasers who in return sold the coins to the public. The coins were authorized by Public Law:109-45.

First Strike:Coins submitted to PCGS within the first 30 days from the release date qualify to receive a special First Strike designation on the PCGS holder.
