American Journal of Numismatics. New York City: American Numismatic and Archaeological Society, various issues 1892-1916. This journal contains several scattered items pertaining to commemoratives, with a review of the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition coins and medals (in the 1916 volume) being of special interest.
Anderson, Burnett. Various untitled eyewitness reports filed with Numismatic News and Coins magazine pertaining to commemorative coins and ceremonies, as credited in footnotes. Burnett Anderson is the Washington correspondent for Krause Publications.
Annual Report of the Director of the Mint. Washington: Government Printing Office, various editions 1892 to date. These annual volumes are particularly useful for the wording of legislation affecting the issuance of commemoratives and, to an extent, mintage and melting figures.

Colorado Springs, co: American Numismatic Association, 1977 and two later editions. Contains information on "first points of wear" for commemorative coins.
Bullowa, David M. The Commemorative Coinage of the United States. New York: The American Numismatic Society, 1938. An excellent history of commemoratives from 1892 to 1938, reprinting the original congressional enabling acts, listing mintages and quantities melted, and giving other useful information. It is significant to note that the distribution of certain designs melted was tentative, especially when bulk melting comprised coins of more than one date. Later historians often omitted the tentative nature of the figures.
