The 2023-P Bessie Coleman Quarters were first offered by the US Mint on February 14, 2023. Customers had three different options to order the coins. One option was by purchasing two-roll sets for $40. One roll contained 40 quarters struck at the Philadelphia Mint and the other roll held 40 quarters struck at the Denver Mint. Read more.

PCGS Set Registry Update

On July 20, 1969, two astronauts from the United States, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, landed on the Moon. Their spacecraft was called the Apollo 11, and a Moon landing was the vision of President John F. Kennedy. In August, the Woodstock music festival was held in upstate New York on land owned by Max Yasgar, a dairy farmer in Bethel, New York. Woodstock was headlined by musical artists such as rock legend Jimi Hendrix, guitarist Carlos Santana, and singer Janis Joplin to name a few. The residents of the town of Bethel protested the event by boycotting the purchase of milk from Yasgur's dairy farm and they came up with the following slogan: "Buy No Milk. Stop Max's Hippy Music Festival." Nevertheless, this music festival went on to define the counterculture movement of the 1960s. Also in 1969, the US Mint moved to its current location near Independence Mall and produced a record-setting 5.5 billion Lincoln Cents. The year 1969 also marked the last time a circulating silver coin was struck, with the 1969-D Kennedy Half Dollar -- a conditional rarity.
