When you want to buy coins, this big question often enters the decision-making process: “is the price right?” Surely, knowing how much a coin is worth is instrumental when planning to make a purchase. But how do you determine what is fair retail market value for coins? That’s why the PCGS Price Guide exists: to help you gain a better understanding of retail prices for coins and related numismatic items, and particularly those that are graded by PCGS.
The PCGS Price Guide includes thousands of prices for a full range of United States coins, bullion, medals, patterns, and much more. Covering the gamut of the U.S. numismatic catalog, the PCGS Price Guide is your free, go-to source for retail pricing information on the coins, bullion, medals, patterns, and other numismatic items you either are looking to purchase or wish to sell.
The PCGS Price Guide shows pricing for coins from across the grading spectrum, with prices for coins in proof, specimen, and other numismatic finishes as applicable; grading designations such as RD, RB, and BN; FH; FB; FBL; FS; and other nomenclature are also included when and where these grade tiers apply. The PCGS Price Guide does not engage in fantasy pricing; in other words, you will only find prices for coins in grades known to have been achieved by pieces submitted to and graded by PCGS. In other words, you will not find prices for, say, an 1886-S Morgan Dollar in MS70DMPL, of which no such specimen is known to exist nor has been graded by PCGS as of this writing.
Bear in mind that the pricing data reflected on the PCGS Price Guide are estimations based on market trends for PCGS-graded coins only and are neither offers to buy nor sell. That being said, the PCGS-graded coins you wish to buy or sell may be worth more or less depending on individual factors relating to the surface color, eye appeal, or other variables that your specific coin may exhibit. Still, the PCGS Price Guide provides you with reliable, constantly updated information that can help you gain expert insight on whether the price really is right!
