About This Set:
I purchased my first 1858 transitional pattern in 1996 from Bowers and Merena's sale of the Louis Eliasberg collection. I was fortunate to buy two coins at that sale..... The J-191 and the J-213. Since that time I have been trying to locate... purchase and rebuild the original 12 piece Eliasberg set. Over the years I've managed to locate plate match and purchase 9 of the twelve and I know where 2 of the 3 remaining coins are. As of this writing the missing link is the J-204 so if anyone out there can help me find it I will make it worth your time. This is a fun pattern set to collect as it represents a true transitional effort by the mint and it is relatively affordable compared to other pattern sets.
