Del Bland has spent most of his time and energy over the last 20 years gathering information for the Condition Census that appears herein. He has searched auction catalogues, comparing plates from one to the next in an effort to be sure each listing is as correct as possible. The Condition Census presented contains the history of over 4,000 coins and represents in excess of 25,000 individual entries.
Denis W. Loring shared his in-depth knowledge of the early cents, and patiently answered the editor's many questions. Denis was chairman of the Early Large Cent Revision Committee, which began in-depth re-examination of the 1793-1814 series in 1973. His experience with past works on the early large cent series has been invaluable, and his comments and criticisms have been gratefully received.
