A RAREproof only issue struck during the Exposition Universelle of 1889 (Paris World's Fair). A charming Gem example exhibiting a needle-sharp strike accentuating the intricate frosty devices in contrast to the smooth open fields that retain much reflectivity. Rich mottled gray patina complements the attractive motif with a slight delicate iridescent sheen in several areas.
