Dahlonega Complete Type Set, Circulation Strikes (1838-1861)

As with the Dahlonega basic type set, the complete type set from this Georgia mint contains only the four denominations that were struck, but it also has the Classic head Dahlonega gold. The three dollar issue is still the key coin for this set, as with the basic set, as they were only struck in one year (1854) and are extremely rare in Uncirculated condition. Of course, the Classic head quarter and half eagles are also keys to completing the type set with Almost Uncirculated coins occasionally available and Uncirculated ones almost never seen. The popularity of the Dahlonega Mint issues keeps demand high for the top grade coins, but there are enough available examples to make this set doable. It is an impressive set.
