Overland Trail Collection

About This Set: The Overland Trail Collection of Charlotte Type consists of the 8 different type coins with three gold one dollar, two quarter eagles, and three half eagles represented. Many of the one dollar denominations are crudely struck on ill prepared planchets with severely clashed dies, making for some of the poorer made coins in U.S. history. Since none of the Charlotte coinage can be considered as common, the challenge of assembling a collection with both eye appeal and rarity is daunting endeavor. All coins of this collection have been chosen with this objective.
