Like the 1936 set, the 1937 Proof Set also contains the three coveted "obsolete" designs – Buffalo Nickel, Mercury Dime and Walking Liberty Half. Gem examples of 1937s are more easily obtainable than for the 1936s, so Set Ratings of 67 or higher are a realistic goal. In fact, one dedicated collector managed to assemble what was perhaps the finest-ever 1937 Proof Set with an incredible set rating of 68.92! For both novice and experienced numismatists alike, few 20th century sets will elicit more smiles than a gem 1936 or 1937 Proof set.
