1912 marked the final appearance of the Liberty Nickel. Seven hundred each of the Barber silver coins were made, and a nice supply of survivors keeps the price on these to the mid-four figures, even for gem examples. The Matte Proof Gold is both rare and costly, and while 1912 is a typical year, the two higher denominations saw fewer than 100 pieces struck of which perhaps 50 of each survive.
