The Proof set for 1906 continued the pattern set in 1892 and contained an Indian Cent, Liberty Nickel and the three Barber silver coins. This set is of typical rarity for the period, and putting together a nice high grade set should not prove too expensive or time consuming. The gold coins for 1906 were of the Liberty design, and were struck with the traditional mirror finish. Populations for the high denomination coins are quite low, and auction appearances are infrequent at best. In fact, a PCGS-certified 1906 Proof $20 has not appeared at auction in over five years.
