The 1890 Proof Set continued with the appearance it had since 1883 when the Liberty or "V" nickel was introduced. An Indian Cent, a Liberty Nickel, three Seated Liberty Silver coins and a Morgan Dollar. Just shy of 600 silver coins were made, with over 2000 cents and nickels, making this set of typical rarity for the period. The gold too is typical for the period, with around 55-65 struck of the larger denominations and 85-95 of the smaller denominations.
