The basic nine-piece 1864 Proof Set contains both the copper nickel and bronze Indian cents, and introduced the Two Cent piece to help alleviate the shortage of small change brought about by hoarding during the Civil War. However, including two very scarce varieties - the 1864 Bronze cent with "L" and the Small Motto Two Cent piece make this a most challenging set. Both of these rarities command six figure money in top grades.
