The 1857 Proof Coins were the last to be sold somewhat clandestinely to collectors for by the following year, Mint Director Snowden began to publicly advertise their availability. Perhaps a dozen or so examples exist of each of the silver coins and fewer than a half dozen examples of the gold denominations are extant. No $20's are known at all.
