1855 Proof Set

The 1855 Proof set is still difficult to complete even eliminating the two extremely rare gold Proof issues that are known. The copper issues are available with the silver issues either scarce or rare. The silver dollar is the highlight of this Proof set, as the large issues always are difficult to find, especially in the higher grades. This is a very popular year with the silver issues, as the half dime through the half dollar are the scarce Arrows type – pressure from type collectors keeping these coins in constant demand.
