The 1924 Mint Set is typical, with the mintmarked issues in higher grades providing the challenge. While the 24-D Cent is usually considered the "tough" one, the 24-S is actually scarcer above MS-64. The San Francisco Nickel, Dime and Quarter are tough, and the Peace dollar will cost five figures if you want the best. The with-gold set for 1924 includes the three Double Eagles. Not surprisingly, the two mintmarked issues are scarce in Mint State, and almost prohibitively so in the top grades of MS-65 and MS-66.
