The 1911 Mint Set presents no special challenges although some of he mintmarked Quarters and Halves can be scarce in higher grade. A full Red 11-S Cent in MS-66 will require a low five-figure check as will the finest known examples of the '11-D Quarter and '11-S Half. Lots of gold coins were struck in 1911 (eleven in fact) and the '11-D Quarter Eagle is the rarity in the entire series. Not to be outdone however, the Denver Half Eagle and Eagle of 1911 are serious condition rarities, with MS-65 examples well over $100K.
