The year 1884 is famous because of the San Francisco silver dollar. For the Mint Set, this popular dollar is the centerpiece, as it is also the largest coin. The three cent nickel is also a tough coin to find in high grade, as is the San Francisco dime. As with the other low mintage quarters and half dollars of this decade, the 1884 coins were hoarded. Thus they are available in high grade Uncirculated condition, as are the other silver issues. The silver dollar is among the keys of the Morgan series and the centerpiece of this impressive Mint Set.
