1863 Mint Set

With the nation mired in a Civil War, low denomination silver coinage was hoarded, and very little was being struck in Philadelphia making the Half Dimes and Dimes from this mint quite scarce in any grade. While San Francisco struck a higher quantity, most of it was circulated, and Mint State pieces are infrequently found. The larger silver coins (Quarters, Halves and Dollars) are of only average rarity for the period, though the Dollars in top Mint State grades will not be cheap.
