As the war progressed, mintages and issues declined precipitously. The three Southern mints in Charlotte, Dahlonega and New Orleans were lost to the United States, so only two mints remained in operation – Philadelphia and San Francisco. The toughest coins in the Silver set will be the "S" mint Dime and Quarter in high grade, and of course the Seated Dollar is costly in top condition.
